Down blankets and pillows are considered to be high-quality comforters, but their sustainability has been questionable for a while. Biodegradable down alternative products are ideal for sleeping, especially for sensitive sleepers and people, who are allergic to down, latex or wool. The feather-like sensation is achieved by ultra-fine fibers which mimic all the desirable down attributes, with none of the allergens.
Bio blankets and pillows are filled with hypoallergenic PrimaLoft® Bio™ fiberfill and covered in 100% natural cotton. PrimaLoft® Bio™ is a revolutionary biodegradable fiber engineered in cooperation with Dreamsville team. Products are designed in Estonia and manufactured in Germany to meet excellent quality standards.

Our dream is to have everyone live in Dreamsville. To make our products, we turn unwanted PET bottles into new fibers to reduce plastic waste and soil contamination and prevent it from ending up in landfills. For one single-size blanket or pillow, 45 x 0.5 l, 63 x 0.5 l plastic water bottles are used for a double-size blanket or pillow.
This requires less energy and introduces up to 50% less CO2 emissions than virgin material. In addition, recycled polyester aims to be continuously recycled with no degradation of quality, reducing carbon footprint and minimizing wastage.
The infamous microplastic
Every time we do our laundry, an average of 9 million microscopic fibers travel all the way to our oceans. Plastic particles washed off from synthetic clothes and textiles contribute to 35% of primary microplastics polluting our oceans.
Dreamsville Bio blankets and pillows offer a previously unattainable level of performance and sustainability, reducing the number of microplastics drastically in our landfills.
Also, PrimaLoft® Bio™ fibers have been designed to be more delicious to the microbes in natural environments. These tiny microbes play a significant role, allowing synthetic insulation and fabric to return to natural elements: water, CO2, methane, biomass, and humus. This way, less microplastic ends up in the ocean, and oceans will be cleaner.
Recycling matters
As the production of virgin materials is burdensome, recycling becomes more and more relevant. Third-party testing has shown that PrimaLoft® Bio™ fibers can be chemically recycled with a 95% yield rate. Additionally, after chemical recycling, PrimaLoft® Bio™ fibers may be reused to produce new fibers while maintaining the same level of performance.
This means, PrimaLoft® Bio™ fibers can be broken down to their basic components and made into new material without lowering its quality. Essentially, these biodegradable fibers can be used to make high-performance materials over and over again. Also, our cotton fabric is convertible into fiber that can be reused in textile products.
