Your body has been working all night to digest yesterday’s dinner, and by the time you wake up, your body and mind are demanding fresh fuel. The right breakfast will power you up in the morning. Perfect breakfast kick starts your metabolism and helps you power through the day.

Breakfast that contains protein, healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals can help with emotional stability and reduce cravings later in the day. While the body might not be hungry upon waking, it’s still important to eat something. If you’d prefer to eat once you arrive at the office, that’s fine! Grab a smoothie or yogurt topped with berries and enjoy.

Here are some excellent breakfast foods that help boost your energy, improve mental performance and concentration.

Eggs
An omelet full of veggies with a slice of whole-grain toast is excellent. Or maybe scrambled, hard-boiled, or even oven-baked?

Oatmeal
A bowl of high-fiber porridge topped with fresh fruit and a handful of almonds or walnuts.

Smoothie
You can add just about anything to make a great smoothie. This means all of the benefits listed above can be combined with yogurt, nuts, fruits, leafy greens, seeds, juices, and whatever else you love.

Yogurt
Not into cooking? Then yogurt might be just the breakfast for you. Yogurt is also an excellent source of calcium and protein. Choose Greek-style yogurt, which has twice the amount of protein than other yogurts. Add some berries, fruits, or almonds too.

While heading to the kitchen upon getting out of bed isn’t necessary, eating a nutritious breakfast within an hour or so after waking up following a sweat session is the best way to energize yourself for a busy and productive day ahead. Fueling up on vitamins, minerals, healthy fats, and protein first thing will stabilize your moods, provide energy and make you happy and excited for what’s in store.
